Only two years are left to achieve the MDGs.

Based on their experience and lessons learnt, most interviewees of joint programs have stated their points of view about the goals which, from their point of view, should be included in the agenda after 2015.
These interviewees were mostly worried about the need to focus on indigenous peoples, because the indicators are still the same, beyond averages. Following the suggestions of the Permanent Forum, the need for clear and culturally sensitive indicators has been acknowledged to be a goal. "For the sake of sustainability, we must take culture very seriously ".
However, the interviews and inquiries to indigenous organizations have revealed that MDGs’ agenda is not so aware of it. Therefore, it is essential to show indigenous peoples the determination of a new POST 2015 agenda aimed at meeting their priorities and demands and to make them part of such determination.

Inequalities are the challenge to be faced in this century. The gaps between indigenous and non-indigenous peoples are still wide around the world, and they are the results of centuries of racism and structural discrimination. There is hope, advances in different fields, in legislation, in public policies, in political participation, in organizational strengthening … We are still firmly committed, we are still building alliances and having dialogue. Indigenous peoples are present, indigenous women are present, they propose, they debate and they guarantee the respect for collective and individual rights to be true in millions of indigenous men, women, young people and children living in this world.

We think that the POST 2015 agenda may become a milestone in history as a frame for actions based on principles against gender violence, against discrimination and against racism, for the sake of indigenous peoples’ dignity.
